Official Wireless Sony Black Sixaxis Controller

This controller is superb. Renowned Playstation design makes this still one of the best shaped controllers ever made. The lack of rumble is a downfall but hope is on the horizon. Sony have settled their long legal issues with Immersion Inc. and will now be implementing rumble as well as six axis tilt into their controllers. Hopefully these will arrive near september when all the major titles start to be released, and these games will more than likely feature rumble in them as developers would get the new controllers far before they're available in the shops. Even if new games dont have rumble im sure it'll be fixed with patch updates via the console to let the new controllers incorporate it. In the meantime though, is by far the best price i've seen for this controller and would highly recommend purchasing at least one extra if you have two player games.

Well Ps3 owners, this controller has got an excellent battery life, it's wireless and lightweight compared to ps2 and xbox 360 controllers!!!

this controller is needed for Virtua Tennis 3, Resistance(co-op mode), NBA 2K7!! This extra controller will definitely be needed when the Next-gen sports games come out properly e.g. PES7 and FIFA 08!!

Loses a star becuase it's slightly expensive!!

Even though the PS3 controllers have no rumble i haven't missed it so much yet (and with news of a rumble controller coming out in the near future im not worried).

The battery life isn't as short as niftyuk makes it sound. Unless you plan to play the ps3 for 8 hours flat out you should be fine.

As for the six-axis it works suprisingly well in supporting games.

This is deffinatly the lightest controller i have ever used and play.com has the best price.

I have a PS3 with 2 of these SISAXIS controllers and they are great, the motion sensitive play is good, and the lightness of it is nice , but i've only just realized that sony have taken away the vibrations, i big miss, sony said if there have vbrations it would interfere with the sisaxis motion sensing, but the wii remote has vibrations and is motion sensitive.

soooooo... sony got working and have come up with something better, DUALSHOCK 3. It has the Sixaxis motion sensing, and is still wireless, connected via bluetooth, but with vibrations.

the DUALSHOCK 3 will be available spring 2008, if you want another sixaxis controller, you are better off waiting for DUALSHOCK 3...

I was kind of expecting the worst but once I had played FL0W I was totally convinced; it's smooth, very responsive and will make Loco Roco 2 a total joy to play!
The lack of rumble is something that I think everyone will miss but there's talk of Sony launching a revised pad later on with the feature back in place. The new triggers are fairly useless and the analogue sticks, though improved, are still no match for the 360's. Battery life is very good and one advantage to the rumble being missing is that the pad is nice and light. It does make it feel a little on the cheap side but that's possibly being overly harsh. In my opinion the worst thing about the SIXAXIS pad is that the USB lead for charging it is VERY short. This I think could make for real problems for those that like to play sat back from the screen a bit, and that brings me nicely to my final problem: you don't get an extra USB lead to charge the pad with when you buy an extra controller and that's just outright mean. :(
